Wednesday Night Dinners
At the heart of our program, we meet every Wednesday at 6 pm during the academic year to build community through sharing a meal. Meals are prepared using local produce through Community Supported Agriculture that students work for and harvest from the UC Davis Student Farm. Using locally grown and harvested produce for our meals is one key way in which we seek to live out our spiritual commitment to caring for creation and practicing eco-justice.
After Dinner, those who wish to are invited to stay for a spiritual gathering that includes songs, prayers, and reflective activities. This is an intimate, fellowship-style worship service in the progressive Christian tradition. We usually begin and end with three songs, share a scripture reading, engage in a fun, reflective activity, share candles of joy and concern, and pass the peace. The service is Christian, but all students are welcome wherever you are on your faith journey.
