Programs

CA House implements its ministry through a number of student-focused programs. These include Programs for worship, intentional living, service, study, and personal growth. Through action on issues of peace and justice, we enable individuals to discover and fulfill their human and spiritual vocations. The list below describes CA House's major core programs. Wednesday Dinner & Worship

Every Wednesday, Dinner 6-7 pm, Worship 7-8 pm

At the heart of our program, we gather every Wednesday at 6 pm during the academic year to build community through a shared meal, followed at 7 pm by songs, scripture, and prayers of joy and concern.

Multifaith Living Community

Beginning Fall 2008, CA House will house 34 students of different faiths in six new townhouses on our property across from campus. Students will learn, serve, and promote peace and justice in the world.

Acorn Mentoring Project

Every Tuesday, 3:10-6 pm

Join this fun, action-and-reflection service project mentoring youth in under-resourced neighborhoods in Sacramento. UC Davis course credit is available!

Progressive Scripture Study

Every Thursday, 12:30-1:30 pm, MU Coffee House Glassed-In Area (Near Wellman)

Come explore the Bible's radical and liberating messages for our lives today. Each quarter we focus on a different theme or part of the Bible.

Graduate Student Tea

Every Monday, 5:30-6:30 pm

This tea is for young adults looking to deepen spiritually by discussing interesting topics, sharing the joys and challenges of grad student life, and being supported with prayers. We also share tea and goodies.

Quarterly Service Retreats

Progressive Christian college students from across northern California gather once a quarter to do service, relax, worship, eat, and have fun.

Other Service & Justice Projects

We promote other opportunities for students to serve and do social justice work on issues they care about - including homelessness, hunger, and environmental justice.

One-Time Programs & Events

Throughout the year we offer many other one-time programs for spiritual growth, service and justice, and sometimes just for fun.

Summer Service Trips

Every other year we make a summer service trip to another part of the country or world. These trips are profound opportunities to deepen faith, build relationships, and perform valuable, transformative service.
