Multifaith Living Community
The Multifaith Living Community (MLC) at CA House is a unique living environment for 40+ university and graduate students who seek to live intentionally with one another, based on CA House’s four values: community, faith, social justice, and sustainable living. Students of all faiths, or no faith, are eligible to apply. It is the only multfaith community in Davis and one of few in the entire nation!
Former Campus Minister, Kristin Stoneking led the campaign for the construction of the MLC, which completed in 2008. The community consists of 6 townhouses, which are all accessible on the first floor, and have full kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms and laundry facilities within each unit. Four townhouses have 6 bedrooms and 3 full baths, and 2 townhouses have 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. They are all situated around a private courtyard behind our Main House. Some rooms are also available in our Main House, which faces directly across from campus on Russell Boulevard. Residents in the MLC have the opportunity to take advantage of the quarterly programming features and resources available through CA House.
Our location makes alternative transportation to campus and downtown quite possible and easy. As a commitment to our value of sustainable living we encourage all residents to utilize public transportation, as well as take part in Davis’ bike culture. There is a bus stop right in front of our Main House on Russell Blvd. We also have a 40+ capacity bike rack on-site, free for resident use. However, some on-site parking (covered and uncovered) is available for $40 a month. Residents owning a car must purchase a CA House parking space and sign a year-long parking lease; neighborhood parking is not allowed. All residents with a parking space must display a CA House permit.
