About the Multifaith Living Community
Est. in 2008
Former CA House Campus Minister, Kristin Stoneking led the campaign for the construction of the Multifaith Living Community, which completed in 2008. The Multifaith Living Community (MLC) at CA House is an intentional community offering an unique living environment for 40+ university and graduate students based on CA House’s four values: community, faith, social justice, and sustainable living. Students of all faiths, or no faith, are eligible to apply. It is the only multfaith community in Davis and one of few in the entire nation! The MLC is located behind our Main House on the Russell Blvd property directly across the street from campus.
What is Intentional Community?
Intentional communities and cooperative housing are common in Davis, offering spaces for social cohesion, teambuilding and requiring certain levels of participation within the community. The MLC is designed for students who seek to build relationships with people of diverse faiths and world-views. Our primary objective is multifaith cooperation and learning from one another as neighbors. For example, all residents are required to attend the weekly Open Table multifaith dinners and serve in a Community Life Position while living at the MLC. In addition, residents in the MLC have the opportunity to take part in other quarterly events and resources available through CA House.
