Director and Campus Minister
Rev. Sara Tillema (she/her)

Sara Tillema is the Director & Campus Minister at Cal Aggie Christian Association. Sara joined the CA House family in Summer 2017. While born and raised in the Sacramento area, prior to moving to Davis Sara attended Azusa Pacific University where she studied Philosophy and Religion. From there, she completed her Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary with a focus in Campus Ministry and Theology, Women, and Gender. She loves working with college students as they navigate life’s big questions, and is particularly interested in empowering students to see how their faith and passions can intersect to create meaningful change in our world. Sara’s favorite activities include binge-reading (particularly fantasy, sci-fi, and YA novels), drinking coffee, philosophical discussions, and hiking with her family. Sara is an ordained Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Sara develops and oversees all programming, provides pastoral care to students, interfaces with campus institutions and other campus ministries, and manages the organization’s finances in partnership with the Board of Directors.

To contact Sara, use the contact button to the right, or email her directly at sara@cahouse.org.

Program Coordinator
Madeline Severtson (she/her)

Madeline Severtson is the Program Coordinator at Cal Aggie Christian Association. She joined CA House as an intern in the fall of 2018 and transitioned into her current role in summer 2019. She is currently a student at the Pacific School of Religion, working toward a Master of Divinity with a focus in interreligious dialogue and education. Madeline spent most of her life in Minnesota, and her background includes fundraising and program support for several nonprofits in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. She loves hearing people’s stories of religion and faith, and she is especially interested in the listening and conversation skills that make such dialogue possible. In her free time, Madeline can be found reading, baking bread, and exploring hiking trails (not all at once).

Madeline is responsible for developing and coordinating CA House programs related to interreligious dialogue and religious literacy. Additionally, she works to build and strengthen our interfaith partnerships in the greater Davis community.

Community Coordinator
Emily March (she/her)

Emily March is the Community Coordinator for the Multifaith Living Community at Cal Aggie Christian Association. She joined CA House staff in Spring 2021. Originally from San Diego, Emily came to UC Davis for graduate school where she completed a Master of Arts in Political Science with a focus on Women in Politics. She participated in Open Table Dinners during her studies and appreciated the welcoming and thoughtful community CA House provided. She loves working with college students, especially on education and political activism for social justice. In her free time, Emily enjoys running, reading novels (particularly historical fiction), and singing in her church choir.

Emily is responsible for managing the Multifaith Living Community property and residents. She handles outreach, recruitment, and social media and also provides support for CA House programs. To contact her, email emily@cahouse.org.
