Financial Assistance for the Multifaith Living Community
At CA House, we commit to do everything we can to make living at the MLC financially feasible for residents. With this in mind, we offer several options for residents seeking financial assistance. All assistance is awarded on a first come – first served basis and scholarship funding is limited. Residents may apply for more than one form of financial assistance, but may only receive one of the following during any given lease year.

Income Qualified Rent
Each year, CA House will lease up to three Income Qualified units for students who meet Yolo County Very Low Income requirements. Once the Income Qualified units are filled, applicants are placed on a waitlist for the next available vacancy. The income qualified rent for 2023-2024 is $590/month. In order to be considered, students must turn in their current FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) with their housing application.
Reduced Rent
Each year, CA House will lease up to seven units at a reduced rate for students who meet Yolo County Low Income requirements. Once the Reduced Rent units are filled, applicants are placed on a waitlist for the next available vacancy. The Reduced Rent rate for 2023-2024 is $850/month. Reduced Rent is not available for double occupancy rooms. In order to be considered, students must turn in their current FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) with their housing application.
Stoneking Scholarship
Kristin Stoneking was a former CA House Campus Minister (2003-2013) and founder of the Multifaith Living Community. The Stoneking Scholarship is available to any MLC Residents who identify as LGBTQ+. Recipients will receive a set amount of $85 off their monthly rental amount. All applicants for this scholarship must turn in their current FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) with their housing application, and meet for a follow up interview in order to be considered.
