Community Advisor Job Description
September 2026- June 2027
Pay: $150/month, 8-10 hours/month
Next year at the MLC, we hope to deepen our mission to live as an intentional living community by re-introducing a leadership position: the Community Advisor (CA). As a CA, you will have the opportunity to work alongside CA House professional staff and five other Community Advisors to create a supportive community through programming and one-on-one relationship development with your peers.
The CA House Community Advisors serve as the primary point of contact between residents and staff by building relationships with the members of their house to ensure that all members of our community are integrated into the CA House program and mission.

Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with staff to create programming for the MLC, including for your house, Open Table, and other initiatives
– Work alongside CA House Interfaith Campus Minister, Community Coordinator, and Community Advisor Team to develop community-wide special programming for the MLC
– Invite house residents to participate in the programs
– Get to know your fellow housemates through one-on-ones and house-specific programming
– Attend weekly Community Advisor team meetings to develop upcoming programs
– Be attentive to the pulse of the greater CA House community by communicating the interests and needs of your peers to CA House staff so that we can offer more targeted programs
– Attend retreats and programming
– Attend Community Advisor Retreat in mid-September
Time Breakdown per Month (Total: 8-10 hours)
Staff Meetings: 4 hrs
Program Preparation: 1 hr
Program Leadership/Attendance: 2+ hrs
Peer one-on-one’s: 1+ hrs
Staff one-on-one: 1 hr

Leadership Development:
– Once a month one-on-one with Staff
