Celebration of Abraham
“The mission of the Celebration of Abraham is to increase understanding and respect among the three Abrahamic faiths in Davis and Woodland. The Celebration of Abraham recognizes that Judaism, Christianity and Islam share a belief in one God and celebrate a common ancestor in faith, Abraham.
The Celebration educates the local community about the three traditions and promote interfaith cooperation to improve the community of Yolo County. This is accomplished primarily through an annual community gathering where participants learn about one another’s faiths. We reflect on how each of the three traditions addresses universal themes. The Celebration also collect funds and volunteers workers for a community benefit organizations.”
Yolo Interfaith Alliance for Climate Justice
“Yolo Interfaith Alliance for Climate Justice is open to any faith group members, or even non-faith folks, who wish to address climate justice and climate disruption issues on a variety of levels. Currently we have people from 8-10 faith groups meeting on a monthly basis. Yolo Interfaith Alliance for Climate Justice is an independent alliance and a working group of the Cool Davis Coalition.
The mission of the Yolo Interfaith Alliance for Climate Justice is to inspire our faith communities to work together to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, educate ourselves on climate issues and speak out for climate justice.”
LGBT Resource Center:
The purpose of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center (LGBTRC) is to provide an open, safe, inclusive space and community that is committed to challenging homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and heterosexism. The LGBT Resource Center promotes education about all genders and sexualities, as well as space for self-exploration of these identities. The LGBT Resource Center is a dynamic, responsive and collaborative organization that serves UC Davis and the surrounding region by providing a growing spectrum of programs, resources, outreach and advocacy. Inherent in this mission are the values of respect, pride and unity for ALL individuals.
